DCAL short courses may be undertaken in a flexible, CPD mode via the following online learning portals: Students may enrol at any time, take as long as they need to complete each course, and use action learning techniques to progressively apply new skills in practice. Articulation The point of potential articulation, at which academic credit may be recognised, is the satisfactory completion of a Credit Set of learning experiences. A Credit Set is a specific pair of short courses and the related academic pack. Enrolment in the academic pack is only permitted once you have enrolled in the associated short courses. Click to see the typical credit set configuration right. Short Courses each involve approximately 10 hours of online, small group learning and practical activites relating directly to the workplace. Formal assessment does not form part of these short courses, although some of the learning activities are prototypes or drafts of assessment pieces required for completion of the related academic pack. Academic Packs contain some additional reading, the assessment tasks and information and support to help you achieve a passing grade. Satisfactory completion of the credit set enables the student to apply for a transfer credit of 1 (one) unit towards the following higher degree programs:
NOTE: Students wishing to gain academic awards through The University of Queensland are required to complete a minimum of one third of the required award units as a student of The University of Queensland.
