These manuals were updated in February 2010 in accordance with the 2010 British Thoracic Society Pleural Procedures Guidelines.

Manuals These three manuals are for organisations, trainers and procedural experts who are delivering the simulation component of the chest tube insertion program for doctors.

These manuals provide instructions for conducting the simulation component and outline the roles and responsibilities of participants.

allows doctors to demonstrate and practice hands-on skills in the following areas:

competency in a standard technique for chest tube insertion in an uncomplicated patient
assessing risk and managing complications in more complex simulation scenarios

The simulation component has been designed to integrate with, and run in collaboration with, the online course: Insertion of chest tubes and management of chest drains in adults.
